Girls United Football Association and Juno Sports Tax, a tax consultancy for professional footballers, have signed a sponsorship deal to support the local South London community to create equal access to football for girls.
“I am so delighted that Juno Sports Tax are supporting Girls United to empower girls and young women in South East London through our 21/22 season sponsorship. As a born and raised south east Londoner it feels amazing to be able to Sponsor a club who directly impact the lives of young women in the area. The club has done so much to inspire girls in our community and I’m excited to see what the 21/22 season brings.” – Sofia Thomas, CEO Juno Sports Tax
The partnership has aligned in more ways than one, with Girls United and Juno both dedicated to educating and empowering young people. As well as providing tax advice to footballers, Juno is in schools and football academies helping young people understand how tax affects them and their financial futures.
The launch of the sponsorship will be marked by a celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week on November 8th. Both Girls United and Juno are founded by female entrepreneurs in male dominated spaces, who met last week to share their highlights, challenges and learnings of maneuvering through these spaces.
In the interview, Girls United Founder Romina shares, “We are extremely excited to partner with Juno who are not only pushing to create a more equitable football industry but whose founder also embodies a brave, South London role model for our players. This sponsorship will allow us to grow our capacity to engage girls in South London with football programmes that are accessible to every girl who wants to play football, make friends and learn new skills - removing financial barriers as well as social ones.”
Juno and Girls United are looking forward to a year of new opportunities for the local community - for girls to play football, young people to gain financial literacy, and for the next generation of entrepreneurs to pursue their passions.
